About this course?
PDS 3D Equipment & Piping Design
This is a 5 day course and will be held in
Dublin and/or Cork.
The main capabilities of the PDS Equipment
Modelling and Piping Design Task are addressed including equipment modelling
using three-dimensional "building blocks" and interactive
piping layout, line routing and automatic component placement.
The student learns how to view the model,
to use other engineering models as reference data, to review piping
attributes and to modify and reconstruct the piping model.
The student is introduced to the interaction
between the job specification and the piping software.
This course is designed for Piping Designers,
Piping Engineers, System Programmers, and System Managers who design
and layout the piping of a plant and/or are involved with the installation
and maintenance of PDS software.
Previous CAD experience, preferably MicroStation,
particularly an understanding of 3D space. Experience in equipment layout/piping
design/draughting.

o Building Equipment from 3D primitives
o Building Equipment from parametrics
o Equipment modification/manipulation
o Data review/revision
o Nozzle manipulation
Piping Design:
o Centreline routing and creation
